Would you buy this? The ability to shoot from a few inches away from the subject may not seem that important, but you can take an image of a drawing or paragraph of text, so you can reference them later without the need to take notes. You can then check the results and pick the pictures you like the most, saving as many as you like. As the Cyber-shot branding bears testament, the Ki is not just a cameraphone – it provides a high quality digital photographic experience. Nokia First up, we tested the Nokia , which comes with a 2-megapixel camera, which doesn’t feature auto-focus, a flash or LED photo light. The lens cover has also been changed so that it is much more difficult for it to open accidentally as you carry it around; this not only protects the lens beter, but helps save battery power, as opening the lens shield automatically activates the camera. Normally, this would come under some criticism, but the fact remains that this is still one of the best camera phones on the market, sitting alongside Nokia’s 5 megapixel N

Low light conditions Not having auto-focus really affected the shots taken by the Nokiaand the lack of a xenon flash meant the N95’s shot came out with a blue tinge. A front mounted VGA camera is included for video calling, but unlike some other handsets, you camerx take portrait photos with it.

And when it comes to exchanging files you can also wirelessly hook up using infrared too. The picture at the top is sharp and relatively well balanced, but it’s interesting to see that the colours are less vibrant than the shot taken by the Nokia N The one new addition to camerx Ki is Fix Photo mode.
And although investing in an M2 memory card is almost essential for the audiophile or photographer, for that matterthe handset does come with a reasonable 64MB of onboard memory. For the average user, however, it is the quality of the portraits that really mark the camera out as being better than average.
We were pleasantly pleased with the rendition of our test tracks. Skintones are correctly coloured, not overly k810o and free from k8110i artefacts. The M2 card slides into the left side of the handset, behind a well concealed plastic cover. In our opinion, the D took the best-lit and most focused shot overall. The shot taken in low light k810ii out really well — it’s sharp, well lit and the colours came out really well too.
The bottom picture was taken in low light and as you can see the xenon flash really does light up a scene, but the shot came out a little blurry, which may have been due to moving our hands slightly when we took the shot. czmera

The BestPic function takes nine photos with one press of the shutter button, allowing you to select the best photo. Photo quality, macro, self-timer and flash functions are easily turned on and off with the press of a button, and we found this besr handy. Beneath its stylish exterior remains almost exactly the same handset.
In low light the IXUS 70 performed relatively well. As you can see from the top photo, taken in medium light conditions, camdra colours look faded and the photo looks blurry.
Buy this phone with a contract tariff, and you won’t have to spend much a month to get it for free. All the shots were taken with devices taken straight out of the box, and we used the default settings or an automatic mode if there was one.

There’s a camcorder too, which benefits particularly from the neat teamwork of the 16x digital zoom and the wobble-busting image stabiliser. We’ve rounded up some of the most popular cameras and camera phones and tested them, taking pictures in medium and dark lighting conditions to see how they perform. It’s bright and clear and has an excellent viewing angle, although its performance in sunlight isn’t the best.
It’s not just that it is not a smartphone, it has no built-in converters for viewing Word documents, or other digital file attachments. As the Cyber-shot branding bears testament, the Ki is not just a cameraphone – it provides a high quality digital photographic experience. The biggest k10i in design over the Ki is the keypad.
The Ki features a Xenon flash, BestPic technology and an image stabilisation system. But it also does the basics well.
In low light conditions the Nokia N95 struggled to focus properly and as damera can see in the bottom picture, the LED photo light gives off a slightly blue tinge. Amidst our enthusiasm for the Ki, it is important that potential purchasers understand what this phone isn’t. The two selection buttons and back and clear keys are also quite thin, meaning it’s easy to accidentally press the wrong key. The lens cover has also been changed so that it is much more difficult for it to open accidentally as you carry it around; this not only protects the lens beter, but helps save battery power, as opening the lens shield automatically activates the camera.
Connectivity is fair with Bluetooth, USB a proprietary cable is included in the sales package and infrared among the standard functions. Voice calls are loud and clear, although the phone’s design does dig into your ear camsra little when talking for long periods.
It entertains at every turn, with its video and music editing facilities for example. But on the other side, this phone is a cracking 3G handset that offers a wide range of features for your money.
